JMA originally stood for Jack Matthews and Associates. Jack Matthews started his management consulting company in 1984 to provide sales and marketing re-organization services to a wide variety of industries.
During one particular consulting project, Mr. Matthews became involved in the railroad industry. This one project evolved into the core business of today's JMA Rail Supply Company (JMA).
JMA's first client was a well-known remanufacture of locomotive air compressors. Quality begat quality, and now we are the most well-known short line and industrial railroad parts supplier in the United States.
In an effort to supply components that were not provided by JMA Rail Supply and it's current clients, Mr. Matthews developed JMA Rail Products in mid 1998. JMA Rail Products since has evolved to a recognized supplier of virtually any product of the Rail industry that does not conflict with the clients of JMA Rail Supply.
